Wagner wrote his first great opera after a perilous escape from Riga. Latvian National Opera returns this otherworldly tale to its origins in a new production directed by Viestur Kairish.

Wagner lived in Riga for only two years but he left the city an immense legacy that continues to grow. Latvian National Opera prepared a new production of The Flying Dutchman to mark 100 years since the proclamation of independence.
